ABOUT US

ALAE specializes in all facets of software engineering (development and sustainment) and Information Assurance (IA) support for complex DoD IT systems. Founded in 2009, ALAE has grown and currently maintains a staff of 20+ engineers and IT experts. ALAE was independently assessed as a SEI CMMI ML2-DEV organization in July 2015, and anticipates a successful ML3-DEV SCAMPI A assessment in Q4CY17. ALAE’s Multi-Functional IA Team (MFT) is comprised of industry experienced and certified professionals spanning all disciplines required to support an Air Force (AF) Mission Assurance Category (MAC) II system. ALAE’s IA MFT is composed of a proven IA practitioner coordinating individuals with the following credentials: Oracle Certified Master (OCM) and Professional (OCP) Database Administrators (DBA’s), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) System Administrator (SA), Project Management Institute (PMI) Program Management Professional (PMP), and various other IA related training/certifications. ALAE accomplished and currently sustains the Authority to Operate (ATO) for a MAC II Financial System of Record for the Air Force located at WR-ALC. A total of 146 DoDI 8500.2 assigned system security controls were reviewed and satisfied in accordance with the Department of Defense (DOD) DIACAP on 12 Jan 2017. The ALAE IA MFT is currently working to migrate all applicable DoDI 8500.2 system security controls to the newly required Risk Management Framework (RMF). In preparation for this DoD mandated transition, ALAE’s IA MFT is working to identify and incorporate the National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST) 800-53 series controls as required by the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 200 and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Instruction (CJCSI) 6510.01F (Information Assurance and Support to Computer Network Defense) with an estimated completion of June 2018.

Our ALAE IA MFT is currently fielding multiple requests for evidentiary artifacts in response to several simultaneous highly visible AF auditing events. The current AF agencies performing audits and relying on our team of experts are the Federal Information System Controls Audit Manual (FISCAM), Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), AFAA, Military Equipment and Vehicles (MEV,) and Universe of Transaction (UoT.) In 2015 the ALAE team supported the AF FIAR IT review which encompassed a FISCAM review of Application Level controls for a MAC II system resulting in the identification of five issues. The ALAE IA team has reviewed the findings and concurrently developed and implemented an approach resolving all three of the five assigned deficiencies within ALAE’s scope. ALAE’s support includes creating, implementing and monitoring all Corrective Action Plans (CAPS). Note that the required CAPS have required both process/procedural as well as software design changes to achieve continued compliance with all MAC II controls.

ALAE’s founder, Rich Hardwick, has over 30 years of experience in the execution of DoD engineering and IT requirements. This spans a wide variety of sustainment missions, and includes technical performance as well as management. While employed by a large business, Rich was responsible for the capture, staffing, and overall execution of over $550M in ID/IQ order spanning two decades. He has directly managed programs with budgets ranging from $50K to over $50M, and led a team effort of growing his assigned large businesses’ Profit and Loss (P&L) center from $8M to $43M in Warner Robins over a decade. His total P&L responsibility spanned the three ALC’s (WR-ALC, OC-ALC, OO-ALC) and generated ~ $87M in annual revenues during CY2008.
